CAL - Week 3

Hi friends!
And welcome back to the Amethystry CAL! Week 3 and after this one we're just one step away from being done!
This week is a super super quick one. All we're going to do is put a boarder around the squares we've made using a simple single crochet. That's it! But the last week is going to be a looooong one, just because of the time it takes to actually go the length of the blanket. I'm thinking I'm going to have to use my 0 editing skills for the next one...yay...
But how exciting! We nearly have a full blanket finished!!!
Things you will need this week:
- 5mm Crochet Hook
- White Yarn
- Stitch Markers (optional but recommended for this one)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Just to note before we get started:
Honestly, this week is optional. I do the white boarder around the squares because I personally think it makes the finished thing look better. If you're completely fed up with looking at squares right now, that's fair, I get it, you can do whatever you feel suits you best, but I do think the white boarder on the squares just brings it together a little better :)
Here we go!
Boarder
Difficulty: SUPER EASY
Stitches and terms we will use:
- sk: slip knot
st/sts: stitch/stitches
- sl st: slip st
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
Pattern Notes:
- Written in American terminology

Instructions:
This is probably the trickiest part of this week and honestly, I'm struggling on how to explain it properly so please use the video above the help!
Leaving a tail long enough to weave in, make a slip knot onto your hook.
Attach this to a corner space of your square by making a sl st into the space. Don't chain, work straight from this position

Round 1(the only round!):

- into the corner space make 2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc - this makes your first corner
- sc into the tops of all the stitches across one side of your square
- when you reach the corner, repeat the first step - 2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc
continue this was around the square until you reach the place you connected your white yarn and sl st into the top of the first st you made. [116sts]
That's it, that's all of it. You just have to do this on each square.
This boarder really helps make the colour pop already and will make the attaching process look a little better curated. I'm so excited for the next part, putting it all together!!
Don't forget to share your progress on Instagram and tag me because I love to see it and use the hashtag #amethystrycal !!!
See you next week!!!! <3
